My name is Kevin Kahn and I am the PE teacher for Kinder, 2nd, 4th, and 6th this year at ABA!  I am excited to be a part of the Husky family.  I have taught years, all within the West Mesa cluster at APS, and coached many sports at all levels over those years.  14 years were taught at the middle school level teaching PE and Health, and 4 years teaching Elementary  PE.  This is my 3rd year teaching at ABA, I am so excited to teach here post-Covid!

A little about me, I have been married for 24 years and have one son in high school, and one son attending UNM.  I enjoy anything outdoors-mountain biking, fishing, hiking, etc...

We will be grading on a 1 through 4 grading system this year.  The way that this look in PE is as following-

4-Mastery of the given task/subject.  Success is now 9 out of 10 attempts and attention can now be focused on opponents and tactics.

3-Proficient at the given task/subject.  Students want to be at this level.  Students are starting to detect and correct their own errors and success rate is has risen to 6-8 out of 10 attempts.  Students are able to successful follow correct steps to given task.

2-Nearing Proficient at the given task/subject.  Student success rate is at 3-5 out of 10 attempts.  Steps may be missing or student is unable to correct mistakes on their own, teacher feedback is still required.  The process is still in the process of trial and error.

1- Beginning steps.  Students are unable to complete given tasks/subject consistently.  Success rate is would be a 0-2 out of 10, due to behavior/ attention span/ or low locomotor/ non-locomotor or manipulative skills.
